Hvar, Croatia : Sleep, Eat, Shop

Hvar was what we were expecting plus a thousand times. We loved staying on Hvar and wish our 3 nights were more like 5! The island is a destination for many Europeans for holiday and stag and hen parties. It’s an island of beautiful people, yachts, delicious food and authentic culture. Though the island is full of travelers, the locals that live in the homes above the main square keep the tradition of cooking famous Dalmatian recipes which you can smell from a far, they enjoy the company of their neighbors by sitting outside conversing and playing cards and keeping their businesses open by selling their crafted goods. Hvar revolves around boats….taxi boats, holiday boats, fishing boats and ferries. In the next two posts (yes, we are tributing two posts to Hvar since we loved it SOOO much), we will be sharing the sights we saw, restaurants we ate at, where we had fun, our accommodations and where to shop! Enjoy!! (Because we sure did!)

Mushroom & Israeli Couscous Salad

The restaurant Lemonade is pretty popular in Southern California and is sometimes our only option for a quick lunch while on the go. One of our favorite salads at Lemonade is the Mushroom & Israeli Couscous salad. So instead of paying money each time for it, we decided to try and recreate it. Check out the recipe below:

London….We’re Back!!

Cheerio London! It took us only a year to get back and this time we were able to see some neighborhoods and sites we didn’t get to explore last time.  We did revisit a couple favorite spots – Borough Market + Big Ben!  (Standard Tourist Photo Op)  The Borough Market wasn’t in full swing last year since we went between Christmas & New Years.  This time we got the real taste of it- Friday lunch hour mayhem.  And boy did we have fun!  Speaking of boys, there were a lot of them on their lunch hour  grabbing a bit to eat with their mates.  Continue reading “London….We’re Back!!”

Newcastle upon Tyne Eats

Pleased to Meet You

On our last night in Newcastle, we stopped in this establishment to grab a glass of wine and see it for ourselves since we read great reviews! This place has three different sections – The Main Bar, The Restaurant and Viceroy.  Unfortunately the Viceroy was closed, but we got to enjoy the other two spots.  The bar scene was a happening scene, especially during happy hour when they had great deals on cocktails.  Continue reading “Newcastle upon Tyne Eats”

Ireland: Sleep, Eat, and Play

The Dean Hotel

We stayed at the Dean Hotel, a boutique hotel located in City Centre.  Its a trendy, fun and comfortable establishment that served every purpose – sleep. eat. and entertainment.  To set the scene – the lobby had a DJ set up along with a bar and lounge area.  It didn’t stop there, the rooftop had a fabulous bar, restaurant and lounge area.  We stayed in the SupeRoom, which was the perfect amount of space for us.   Continue reading “Ireland: Sleep, Eat, and Play”
