Being one of the youngest countries in the world (declared their independence on June 3, 2006), Montenegro was one of our favorite places we went during our holiday. Though we spent very little time in the beautiful country, 1 day, we would 100% go back and stay longer!

Dubrovnik, Croatia: Sleep, Eat, Play
Dubrovnik is the walled city where Game of Thrones was filmed. It’s a town that attracts many tourists each year, especially in the Summer months. A little too crowded for our liking, but we found some hidden gems that changed our first impressions of the city.
Hvar, Croatia: Time to Play
Needless to say, we never ran out of anything to do in Hvar. Below is a summary of activities and places we ‘played’ at. The list isn’t complete since we had a couple more adventures to check out….guess that means we have to go back!
Hvar, Croatia : Sleep, Eat, Shop
Hvar was what we were expecting plus a thousand times. We loved staying on Hvar and wish our 3 nights were more like 5! The island is a destination for many Europeans for holiday and stag and hen parties. It’s an island of beautiful people, yachts, delicious food and authentic culture. Though the island is full of travelers, the locals that live in the homes above the main square keep the tradition of cooking famous Dalmatian recipes which you can smell from a far, they enjoy the company of their neighbors by sitting outside conversing and playing cards and keeping their businesses open by selling their crafted goods. Hvar revolves around boats….taxi boats, holiday boats, fishing boats and ferries. In the next two posts (yes, we are tributing two posts to Hvar since we loved it SOOO much), we will be sharing the sights we saw, restaurants we ate at, where we had fun, our accommodations and where to shop! Enjoy!! (Because we sure did!)
Split, Croatia: Sleep, Eat, Play
A quick flight from Geneva, we finally landed in Split via EasyJet*. It was a beautiful landing flying over the islands surrounded by blue waters, boats and Europeans on holiday. Croatia has been a place we’ve wanted to go, but just haven’t had the opportunity to travel there. Since we were in Geneva, flying to Split was not even a second thought in our mind since it was direct, cheap and less than 2 hours away! We enjoyed spending one night in Split to kick off our Croatia holiday! See tips below.
Chexbres, Switzerland
Napa, Tuscany, Bordeaux, Mendoza, Willamette Valley are all the popular places to go wine tasting, so why isn’t Lavaux region on that list? The views itself are incredible and the wine was up to par to the top producing wine regions around the world. Lavaux consists of 830 hectares of terraced vineyards that stretch for about 30 km along the south-facing shores of Lake Geneva. Since July 2007, the region is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. And since 2016, the vineyards of Lavaux are not treated with synthetic pesticides any more. Clean wine…clean drinking! The main wine grape variety grown here is the Chasselas.
